The Akwa Ibom State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has announced plans to recruit 1,000 qualified teachers to fill vacancies in public primary and junior secondary schools in the state.

In a statement signed on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, by the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Rt. Hon. Anietie Etuk said the recruitment exercise is designed to improve the teacher-pupil ratio, enhance learning outcomes and strengthen the delivery of quality basic education in line with the Akwa Ibom State Government’s ARISE Agenda.
